AGMu-2 light-weight auxiliary vehicle was designed in the course of major-overhaul and modernization of one of the machines belonging to Moscow metro. There is left practically nothing from the original vehicle: cabin has been completely replaced with the new design as well as the engine and transmission, the engine hood replaced with a new one, deck re-covered with texturized metal plates. Control devices, wiring and compressed-air equipment have also been changed. In fact, AGMu-2 is a completely new light-weight  vehicle belonging to the second generation of the metro service railway machines.

Implementation of Cummins Diesel engine reduces noise and almost nullifies the exhaust emissions and reduces fuel consumption, which is important while working inside subway tunnels. The diesel engine chosen for this modernization project is of a wide-spread model that facilitates maintenance and replacement of consumables such as, for example, air and oil filters. All parameters of the machine are controlled with the help of automated control system. It is able to display the current working parameters and sensors readings and to prevent possible failures of AGMu-2 component parts. Under the hood one can see a modern type of automatic firefighting system. AGMu-2 is equipped with a hydraulic articulated crane to perform cargo handling during in-tunnel operations. Work crews will appreciate the spacious and quiet cabin of the modernized AGMu-2 vehicle.
